Five Central Coast Flower Growers to Open Farms to CalFlowers Fun 'N Sun Attendees

Growers’ tours, with their abundance of color, scent and generally amazing photo opportunities, tend to bring out the happy in people, even those who work in, and around, flowers all day. Attendees of the 2015 CalFlowers bi-annual Fun ’N Sun convention July 29-August 1 will get plenty of happy at this year’s round of five amazing farms located in the Monterey, Calif. area.

As part of the always-amazing conference agenda, attendees will climb aboard buses on Thursday, July 30 with a breakfast box and be transported to the greenhouses and fields of five leading California growers, representing a broad variety of the many unique and widely distributed California Grown products.

California Pajarosa is the leading luxury cut-rose grower in the country. Fun ’N Sun attendees will get a look at the farm’s 55 coastal-cooled acres, greenhouses and operations. CallaCo (division of Golden State Bulb Growers) is the largest supplier of calla lilies to U.S. wholesale and mass markets, where attendees will see breeding greenhouses, plant trials and the flower bunching facility. Next up: CamFlor, Inc., which grows a variety of novelty cut flowers and greens - including stock, delphinium and many more. Interested in the iconic gerbera, roses and more lilies? Green Valley Floral will serve up a look at more than 70 rose varieties and 100 different gerberas.  Kitayama Brothers, Inc. will round out the tour, including lunch, with a tour of its many gerberas, snap dragons, lilies, iris, gardenias and more.

Many thanks to these growers for sponsoring this great tour and thanks to bus sponsor Komet Sales. For more info on Fun ’N Sun, go to http://www.cafgs.org/fun-n-sun-2015.
