CalFlowers Adds American Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines Cargo Services to Speed Flowers from Field to Consumers

CAPITOLA, Calif., Dec. 2, 2015 – The California Association of Flower Growers & Shippers, or CalFlowers, today added American Airlines Cargo and Hawaiian Air Cargo to its growing list of transportation partners. These providers offer competitive shipping rates to CalFlowers members, allowing them to be competitive in national and global flower markets.

CalFlowers, whose mission is to get flowers from the field to consumers, provides members with a number of transportation services to maximize flower freshness and speed to wholesale and retail markets. Air Canada, Alaska Air Cargo, Delta Cargo, FedEx, OnTrac, Southwest Cargo and United Cargo also participate in the program, offering members a variety of shipping options in and outside of California.

CalFlowers continues to expand its membership, recently adding Bergerons Flowers; Dahlia, Inc.; Delaflor Latin America; Gourmet Specialties; Heart of Florida Greenhouses; Hortus, Inc.; Plazoleta Bazzani S.A.S; Rainbow Flower Farm; and Shaw Lake Farms with a total of 23 members added in this membership year. In addition to access to negotiated shipping rates, members benefit from a number of other services including education, advocacy and marketing programs.

As part of its marketing services, CalFlowers’ transportation partners along with growers, wholesalers and business services providers will participate in the CalFlowers pavilion at the World Floral Expo, Los Angeles Convention Center, March 9-11.
